Day 4 of Six Days of Seriously Satisfying Smoothies and this one might be my favorite. Maybe because the ingredients aren’t the every day, run-of -the-mill choices that come to mind when you think of a smoothie. Sometimes I like to be a little tricky that way.

And trust me, they are a harmonious fusion of flavors

Ok, so hopefully right around now (day 4), you’re starting to feel energized and, dare I say, vital. Starting the day off with a smoothie is a great vehicle for introducing breakfast into your daily routine. Many breakfast skippers often lament that eating breakfast makes them more hungry throughout the day or that they feel like their bodies just aren’t awake enough to eat. A smoothie, while providing the energy your body needs to get started in the morning (and prepare itself to more efficiently burn energy throughout the day), will make you feel satisfied without the effort and preparation of making even something as seemingly simple as a bowl of cold cereal.

If you’ve never had almond butter with fruit, you’re in for a treat. It works particularly well with the sweetness of the peaches and the mild bite of the cardamom. If you can’t find frozen peaches, go ahead an substitute banana (a more obvious but just as delicious choice).

I think you’ll like this one!

Thanks for posting the recipe! I’ve had this smoothie before and was hoping to find the recipe. May I recommend substituting banana for Stevia. 1 tsp of stevia was way to strong for my tastebuds. And also to add more nutrition adding a handful of spinach. Thanks again for posting this!!

      • Jo–thanks for your suggestions! Next time I make this, I’ll try the banana (or maybe even a coupe of dates would do the trick). Love the idea of adding a handful of spinach, too! 🙂

      • (and you’re totally right about the amount of stevia…should be 1/2 tsp…tops!) Thanks for posting your comment (and for visiting the blog! :))
