    Well friends, we made it. Here we are at day six of our Six Days of Seriously Satisfying Smoothies adventure. How are you feeling? No really, How are you feeling?

    If you’re still with me on this final day, we must be doing something right.

    And I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up our smoothie challenge than by dedicating this last one to my husband Paul, who happens to love matcha green tea. I’m not kidding. He LOVES the stuff. In fact, on most Fridays, while I have visions of martinis dancing through my head, he wraps up his work week and ushers in the weekend by treating himself to a matcha green tea latte.

    It’s the simple things

    Now, if you’ve never had matcha green tea powder, let me try to set your expectation. Hmmm…how to describe matcha. It’s has a very green earthy flavor and the texture is almost like cornstarch. It’s very concentrated, so you don’t need to use a lot of it to achieve the distinctive matcha green tea flavor. I blended it with mango to add some additional sweetness to the smoothie, which cuts a bit of the earthy tones of tea. You can find matcha green tea powder in health food stores and co-ops as well as online.

    Mango Matcha Green Tea Smoothie

    servings: 1 | time: about 5 minutes

    1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

    1 TBSP. honey

    1 tsp. matcha green tea powder

    1 cup frozen mango chunks

    1/2 cup plain low fat yogurt



    1. Place all of the ingredients in a blender and puree on high for 2 minutes. Enjoy immediately
